Dr. Richard H. Cobden, MD
Dr. Richard Cobden is a prominent orthopaedic surgeon who manages Steese Orthopaedic Associates, an active practice in Fairbanks. Dr. Cobden obtained his Bachelor of Science in 1963 and his Doctor of Medicine in 1967 at Los Angeles County-USC School of Medicine. He further trained and served as faculty of the University of Edinburgh, Harvard Medical School, and University of California, Davis. He is one of only five orthopaedic surgeons in the Interior who is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, and he is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Cobden's current scope of practice includes General Orthopedics, Trauma, Hand, Hip and Knee Joint Replacement and Reconstructive Surgery. He is former Chief of Staff at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and is a past president of the Alaska State Orthopaedic Association. He has lived in Fairbanks for 13 years.
